After 5 months of uptime it's fair to say we have landed with a bang. Looking back over the previous 5 months we've seen an almost astronomical rise from obscurity to a daily visitor count of over 2000 wargamers. The following is a brief highlight of our year and some stats data that most likely will only be of use to other bloggers and webmasters in our niche.

Statistically we haven't displayed a particularly large increase in visitors from the very beginning to now, due partly to our scoops on certain Space Marine information and our good friend Natfka highlighting Zion's rumors work in the initial months. Something that has happened in the past month though is without the aforementioned scoops and links from the worlds leading 40k rumors source we've managed to eclipse our previous totals. This isn't simply visits either, the stats across the board have improved significantly. Our readers (you guys) have been staying longer, reading more of our posts and bouncing less - bouncing for the uninitiated is simply visiting, reading one page and leaving immediately. This is phenomenal and shows that we're slowly eeking out a loyal and regular readership.

The TWG Ranks Swell

We've also taken on several new writers in our time and currently the number of talented contributors consists of Bayonet, imm0rtal reaper, Galahad, Zion, Acedalmor, Dusty's Corner, The Son of Horus, Geist, scscofield, Geochimp and Lord of the Night.

We Made a Blog Network!

2013 also saw the launch of a unique blognetwork. To join the network or for further info check it out over here.
The Talk Wargaming Blog Network differs from the rest as you don't simple place an image on your site, you place a small piece of code that updates periodically with every post from the sites within the network. In essence the Talk Wargaming Blog Network is an extra "blogroll" that you place on your site. So instead of simply having an image pointing to the "host" site where your posts will display your posts will display upon every single site within the network. Think the TWG Blog Network as a web of interconnecting links that place your content far and wide.

We Had a Facelift

At the beginning of December we decided to revamp the site and set about creating a new and more responsive theme - it's clear now that this was a good move.

Vital Signs Acceptable

I'll briefly go over some of the stats from the first 5 months. Now, there is a frightening dip in stats which is (as has often been the case during my tenure at Heresy Online) due to my absence whilst working away for 5 weeks. This absence fell in the last week of October right up to the beginning of December.

Moving forward we have some big plans here at TWG, plenty of new content is on the way and there's even been talk of putting together a new ruleset and gamesystem that hasn't really been visited in the High Fantasy department - yet.

Here's wishing you all a fabulous 2014 - may your dreams come true and your opponents lament the destruction of their meager forces.

Tutorial: Painting Warlord's Plastic Roman Legionaries

My friend Scott got very excited by my 28mm Roman project. So excited he's been amassing an army of his own. I have to paint them though...
