Dusty's Corner here with the first of my quick hobby guides. This series will run weekly and feature lots of different techniques I've picked up over the years.
For todays guide we're going to focus on sculpting hair with green stuff. This tutorial has been written with ghouls and ghoul hair in mind but applies with hair and even beards.
Take the figure you wish to work with and trim away any unwanted sections. As a rule if its going to be covered by hair its easier to work on a smoother surface.
Roll out a ball of greenstuff and flatten it out on your workplace. Using a modelling knife cut it to the size you require and cut a few lines into the surface. A drop of water will help here.
Apply the piece to the figure and dab it into place where the roots would connect to the scalp.
Work the roots to blend in with the rest of the head. Then work the tips of the hair and try to get them pointy. If you’re careful, you can add extra streaks.
Work around the exterior of the head piece by piece and layer by layer until you have an effect that resembles the following.
The Final Result
This method can be applied to all kinds of hair, beards, fur coats and even animals can have their hair thickened.
Thanks for reading guys, I'll be back next week with another quick tip!
