On facebook earlier I stumbled upon this amazing Space Ship comparison drawing from Dirk Loechel, shortly after I squealed and began to write.

If you haven't seen this before it's well worth checking out.

You'll see hundreds of ships from lots of different settings, each meticulously plotted according to documented lengths and blueprints from whatever sources he could find.

This picture is truly enormous 3985 x 4158 Pixels! It's actually bigger than the capabilities of our image uploader so if you want to see the original in its full glory head over here.

Can anyone name a ship that's missing other than our favorite galactic sucking wench the "Mega Maiden"

On his recent update Dirk said:-

This is a sorely needed update to my size cmparison tables. For 40K, I now used the updated Rogue Trader sizes where applicable, resulting in much larger 40K vessels. Also, no battleships are present because there simply is no canonic size available on them. I kept andrea1969.deviantart.com/ s Eternal Crusader in (at 10 km length, because I figure it is close enough to the Vengeful Spirit, which has a given size), and the Malleus Syndicate's (www.malleus.dk/Ordo/Default.as… fantastic civilian ships because I just like them. Most ships, though, are Rogue Trader vessels. And yes, it's still mostly Imperium. Ork ships, Eldar Ships and the likes may be added in the future though.

Ork ships will definitely look good alongside the more streamlined and "professional" build qualities on display.
